My 4-year-old loves racing cars and book. I thought this was going to be the perfect combination. It was not. Read it couple of times and thats it

perfect for my entry readers (1st grade).

My 10yr.old friends son loved it

We read this story every night! My son has it memorized and I list to him reciting it to himself at night while he is going to sleep. Very simple, very cute story or any little race fan!

Those cars look cool but there needs to be more words on the book and a little bit more pictures.

My grandson loved this book. He can already read, but loves race cars, so it was a big hit!

This book is great. Race Day explains the essence of a race in a way that puts the child front and center in the action. The seemingly simplistic approach allows for the child to participate and be an active and engaged reader, rather than a passive listener.On top of the fun story, the information is accurate and the pictures are actual photographs from a U.S race.Also! The inside of the book's back cover has a great little hand-game with cute lyrics about the race track, which the kids can learn and then play amongst themselves or with a parent! It's a smart and entertaining way to reinforce and highlight the story.

With Guadalcanal secured in mid-1943, American, Australian, and New Zealand forces looked to advance up the Solomon Islands chain to neutralize the great Japanese military base at Rabaul. However, Japanese forces in the region remained formidable. The Allies would experience a painful learning curve...Experienced author Mark Stille has provided an interesting and informative narrative on the Allied campaign to take New Georgia and Bougainville. His coverage of the naval battles is especially good, with sharp, even-handed commentary and some excellent battle diagrams. Coverage of the fighting on land will also be of interest to readers, as the Allies learned to bypass major Japanese troop concentrations. The narrative is nicely supported with period photographs and modern illustrations. Well recommended as concise coverage to students of the campaign.

Kindle version is well written with some excellent maps of the ground and naval actions. However, I was disappointed by the photographs. About a dozen pictures had descriptions but the corresponding photographs are missing. Recommend the hard copy not the Kindle version.

Book was thorough and well written. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because the artist who drew the renditions did a poor job. This is NOT up to the previous standards. Other books had much better and highly detailed renditions. Would I recommend this book, YES ! I will let the imaginations of the reader substitute for the renditions.

Very good book with many pictures,but the information about the battles was basic,I would recommend.

I've been a fan of Mark Stille's Osprey titles and have read most of them. This book has good qualities, but I'll confess disapointment with his rather cursory concluding assessment of the campaign's impact. Comparative losses aren't mentioned for a campaign that caused significant attrition of IJN's destroyers and submarines. Even the huge impact of the campaign in gutting the IJN's air units is largely ignored. Yamamoto and Koga's commitment of their carrier based aircraft to Rabaul, trying to hold off the American advances, led to such extreme losses in planes and pilots that Combined Fleet found itself unable to respond to American landings in the Gilbert and Marshall islands. Not discussed.

I love this book by Tom Kolb. It is 104 pages jam-packed with the most important elements of music theory for guitar, including chord construction, chord progressions, and scale patterns for any key. I would recommend that EVERY guitar player study this book after completing six to twelve months of beginner guitar lessons. Knowing what is in this book can help you become a real musician.This is not an instruction book for the absolute beginner. The beginning student will (I think) require considerably more explanation. However, for any level of guitar player, this would be a great reference to use when taking lessons with a music teacher. If you already play another musical instrument, then go ahead and jump into Tom Kolb's book immediately - - - it will probably be the quickest method to transfer your existing knowledge to guitar.If you are trying to teach yourself, then you will benefit by studying the basics of music theory before you use this book. I recommend The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory, 2nd Edition. After you finish a basic music theory book, then you should have not have any problems following the Tom Kolb Music Theory book.The book is very well organized and the content is presented effectively. While a music staff is consistently used throughout the book, neck diagrams or tab representations are also used to represent notes and chords. There is one great feature of the audio CD: the guitar part is balanced hard-right, so if you adjust the balance entirely to the left the guitar part is eliminated, allowing you to play the guitar part yourself.

I like this book. However, none of the audio files play in my Kindle for PC app, or on my kindle Android app. Both have the following message whenever there is an audio file, " There is audio content at this location that is not currently supported for your kindle device. The caption for this content is displayed below"Anyone have any idea how to correct this so I can play the audio examples?

Anyone having problems getting the audio to play in the kindle app? I tried on my android phone, android tablet and windows pc. All I get is a message that kindle doesn't support the audio. Why publish a book with links to audio files if they can't be played? Disappointed.

I play guitar for almost 40 years and played lead guitar professionally for 15 years. This book is very good and very useful even if you do not know how to read music as everything is shown in guitar-tab format as well. You should know how to read chords like am7 or cmaj7 though.I happen to know more than average about music theory but I found some interesting areas that I did not take in consideration before and it gave me some new ideas and inspirations.I think this book will be very useful for any serious guitar player starting at the a early-advanced level. I would say it should be a "must" for the advanced player who wants to complete his/her knowledge about music theory on the guitar.Something for everyone - and the audio samples are really cool!

Wish I had bought this 2 years ago when I started guitar. But it's an excellent book for explaining music theory too. It's just formatted for guitar players. But the music theory is still music theory. Really great book.

I learned how to memorize the notes on the fretboard with ease and simple tricks to make me a more efficient player. I am not a "professional" but a person who just plays for fun.There are a lot of guitar books out there but this is the real deal. A truthful handbook that shows you how to be a better player by explaining what is important. There are no shortcuts to better playing but there are techinques to make you better and simple tricks that can help tremendously.I would highly recommend this book to anyone who was initiative to get better but doesn't want to pay the high cost for formal lessons.This book is ALL SUBSTANCE - NO FILLER, don't let the 100+ pages fool you. Simply put, the BEST music theory for guitarist book out there. Well worth 10X the $20!!!!

I bought this book way back in 2008 when I first picked up a guitar. It was way,way to advanced for me. Here I am after 7 years of lessons. An alternative is "Idiots Guide to Music Theory For Guitar" which is more than enough for the first few years in my opinion. It teaches basic chord construction and has all the important scales,shapes and modes.But of you really want to understand music theory as it applies to the guitar, get this book. I can now fully understand Kolb's book as I aspire to become an advanced player.

Yo inicie mi proyecto apenas hace dos meses, y he comprado este libro hace 4 dias, el libro me ha ayudado a validar mi progreso, hace poco comore mi dominio, hosting, iluminacion, camara, tripode, tema para wordpress, tengo una fan page abandonada pero con 9mil seguidores y un canal de youtube creado hace años pero con apenas 2 videos, yo no se nada de programacion de edicion apenas se un poco de facebook ads y google adwords, empeze a comprar cursos y equipo a lo loco y ya no sabia que hacer con tanta informacion ni por donde empezar! Ya tengo un logo eslogan pero no lo tengo registrado, pero como vivo en Guatemala tendre que investigar como hacerlo aqui, en fin este libro me ayudo a ordenar mis ideas y me deja claro por donde empezar, hare paso a paso lo que dice este libro y le tengo mucha fe a mi proyecto pero solo es muy dificil! Hay que delegar y los recursos recomendados se ven buenisimos! Buscare algun tipo de colaboracion como lo recomienda y no me desesperare, ya he iniciado comprando todo y no dare marcha atras! VALIOSA INFORMACION A MUY BAJO COSTO!
