This book would have been much better if it provided more model LinkedIn profiles. Instead, the author uses her profile 100 times. After seeing here LinkedIn profile picture he first 50 times, you get real tired of seeing it. I would have used different profile images or better yet, different model profiles altogether. It wouldn't have affected the content. I did notice LinkedIn changed a few layout sections so some of the screenshots are already obsolete.The checklists are useful though. And some of the suggestions for what to write are pretty good examples. Her advice on keeping the audience in mind is common sense, but I totally forgot about it. My profile had two audiences and I had to choose one. This made me have to go over it again and create a consistent profile. Overal, this is a valuable reference book.

This book is very detailed and organized. The amount of time it takes to do it right is no small task. The service this author offers as a turn key solution is detailed in this book but not as an item for sale. If you read this book you will know what to do. Having the time and expertise to get it done in my opinion should be left to professional like this author and her team.
You won't get too far into this how-to book before your frustrations with it will grow greater and greater. It includes very specific instructions about how to manipulate LinkedIn to make it do what you want it to do, but when you attempt to implement the suggestions you find that there's no such button to click or pop-up window that appears. Must be terribly outdated. Waste of time! And money

Prior to that, I was skeptical. However, he set up an account, posted updates from his field, and used the address to his Linked-In page on his resume. Even when he was not offered jobs from companies that he applied to, he could tell they had checked out his account on LinkedIn (which gave him encouragement to keep trying). He also used it to gather info. on the folks he interviewed with.But what if you don't know how to to use LinkedIn? This book will show you the ropes. It uses clear, simple language (plus illustrations) to help you with:*Figuring out a strategy. Who are you trying to reach? What is the best tone to use? Formal? Casual? Tech-ie?*Figuring out how to be found. What are the best words to use? How can you get more people to check you out?*Painting yourself in the best professional light. What achievements do you include? What do you skip?*Adding personal touches, like volunteer work.*Making it pop (including what type of photo to use).All of this is priceless, but it also goes beyond this and tells you how to expand your network and use it to your advantage once you're set up. All of this is more than worth the price of admission, and it sure beats being unemployed. Highly recommend.
